He's not ferocious like a sheep...

One of the happiest parts of motherhood so far has been sharing things I love with Evie. As a certified Disney Geek*, one of my favorite animated shorts as a child was Lambert the Sheepish Lion, and I couldn't wait to show it to her. When she was about a year old, I did, and she was rivited. This is notable, because she has otherwise shown very little interest in tv. It's adorable to watch her expressions as she watches it. She bobs her head to the music, laughs and imitates the lambs. When the hungry wolf appears, she always stiffens and moves to the edge of her seat, barking and pointing at him. Lately, whenever Matt or I mention Lambert, she heads to the living room and reappears with the remote, shoving it at me until I put it on. I'm not hard to convince, since it means 10 minutes of holding a cuddly girl.

Waving goodbye to Lambert

*This is not a joke; I earned a Mousters Degree from the Disney University. Please don't judge me for not pursuing a Ducktorate.

It's only 37 more days until I get to share another love with her: the Disney Cruise! I'm aching to travel. I have been trying to suppress those thoughts for the past two years since it hasn't been a possibility, but I am dying to get back overseas. I realized it has hit a particularly desperate level when I felt twinges of jealousy thinking of Amanda Knox spending so much time in Perugia. Our vacation can't come soon enough!
Our last Disney Cruise in 2007. We look like babies!

Check out my little zoologist. I love her interpretations of the different animal sounds.

  3. I LOVE Lambert the Sheepish Lion! I should have known that you would know that movie. :)

Her animal sounds are awesome. Her meow is the same as Hank's meow, but she needs to teach him the pig and duck. We don't know those yet.
